It has been a few days since I last updated . . . so, I'll try to remember everything . . . things change so quickly (for the better) that sometimes it is hard to keep up!

Preemie Bonding Time . . . Aunt Allison came for a visit this weekend to meet Peter . . . Allison was born at 27 weeks so she and Peter have a special connection . . .she gave him all kinds of guidance on how to grow big and strong in the NICU . . . I think they are both smitten
Aunt Whitney was able to get in another visit to Peter, too . . . I know Peter is going to love hanging out with Whitney as she is a super fun mom to Peter's cool cousins, Mac & Bennett . . .
Grammy Pammy got to meet her newest little Peanut this weekend . . . it is safe to say it was love at first sight . . . every time she looks at him you can tell she just can't wait to hold and snuggle the little guy . . . she brought him a blanket she made (perfect to keep him warm at kangaroo time) and a monkey for his nest . . . tomorrow she is going to start reading to him . . . Grammy is staying the week here in Michigan to work on Peter's nursery . . . I'll post some pictures of the progress soon!

How could I now include this picture?!?Our little man is doing very well. He is up to 3 lbs, 4 oz (maybe even more tonight). He has been consistently gaining weight and is doing very well on breastmilk. He is up to 16ml every hour. He will most likely be off TPN (supplemental nutrition given through iv) and lipids (also given intravenously) in the next two days. Once he is on breastmilk only, he will be considered full feed (a big accomplishment in the NICU). Peter has been weaned back to 3 liters on his air flow. This just happened today. He is a bit up and down on his breathing (they want him to have between 30 and 70 breaths per minute). Generally Peter, has been falling within these guidelines. However, when he gets too active, his respirations will increase to above 100 for a short time. Please pray that Peter can control his breathing so he can continue to be weaned back from any need for the nasal cannula. We are encouraged by his progress as this will be the biggest hurdle for him to surpass.
Time for me to close here . . . headed to the hospital to hold and snuggle with our little man!
