September 20, 2012

Today we decided to combine "school" with bathtime . . . Peter is spending the evening at Uncle Kurt & Aunt Whitney's tonight so we won't have time for a bath when we get home (because he will hopefully be fast asleep) . . . my goal was to introduce pouring . . . so, I provided several different types of containers that can both pour and be poured into.  We had bowls, cups, stackers and a ladle.  We talked about both colors and how to pour water into something and dump something (sometimes over his own head!)

Ummm. . . I'm naked, do you really have to take a picture?

Oh, ok, Mickey's here, I guess you can take my picture (as a side note, Peter is obsessed with Mickey these days)

Hi Again . . . still naked, but as it turns out, I like to be naked!

September 17, 2012

Today, Mommy & I visited the Critter Barn with Aunt Whitney, Bennett and Bisa . . . the goats were my favorite, but Mommy didn't get a picture of me with them . . . so sad :(

This is Bennett and me petting a baby cow . . . he liked me right before this picture was taken . . . Daddy would have felt like the whole experience was very unsanitary!

I thought the chickens were neat . . . not the Roosters so much though . . . I initially thought they were cool until one, I think his name was Hugo, pecked me on the finger . . . I didn't like that much at all!

The bunnies were my second favorite . . . I can't wait until I am 4, like my cousin Bennett so I can hold a bunny all by myself

Bisa and I had a long conversation about cows .  . . he has lots of knowledge as there are wild cows in Ethiopia

Here's me with the bunnies again . . . as a side note, there water bowl was intriguing to me as well . . . Mommy says I am gross!

We thought we were all better after Peter's illness . . . we were wrong . . . a double ear infection for me, an ear infection and sinus infection for Peter, and the trifecta for Brad . . . sinus infection and bronchitis with a side of pneumonia . . . 3 antibiotics and an inhaler later I think we are all truly on the mend.  We have been laying pretty low, but did venture to the beach for a little while today . . . nothing dramatic, just a car ride, some exciting music (well, exciting for Peter at least) and a 20 minute stroll in the sand . . . I think the fresh air was good for us!

September 9, 2012

Peter has officially survived his first "real" illness . . . .ok, that's not true . . . he had Roseola a few weeks ago, but that was a cakewalk compared to the nasty virus he has had for the past week.  It will suffice to say that we have gone through 3 packages of Boogie Wipes and made a permanent dent in the sofa.  However, outside of a little "goop" still in his eyes and snout, he seems to be back to his old self . . . well, that and the super pitiful, almost silent cry he is holding out with . . . pretty sure that is because he realizes it is more pathetic and thus warrants more snuggles!
How the week started . . .

How the week ended . . . .

Peter says . . . see, I'm still feeling puny, but I'll try to put on a happy face and pretend I enjoyed painting!

Books . . .

Books . . . .

And more books . . . . what can I say, our kiddo LOVES books . . . in fact, he will choose a book over a toy almost every time!

Since he is such a book lover, we decided to try to complete his first summer "reading" program . . .yes, yes, I did the reading, but every sticker on that page was earned by 15 minutes  of reading together.

I really feel like I was not properly compensated for my many summers of going above and beyond the required reading . . . Peter got to pick out 4 little prizes (googly eye ring, star shades, a glow in the dark frisbee and a basketball - Daddy was very proud of that choice).  In addition to those prizes, he got to choose a new book (Clifford, the Dog), AND got two passes to a Whitecaps (minor league baseball) game, 1 pass to a Griffins (hockey) game, a free small fry from McD's, a personal pizza from Pizza Hut, a free cookie from Subway and a free dinner at Texas Roadhouse . . . . the stickers, bookmarks, pencils and free McD's hamburgers are looking a little shabby . . .

And, just because he is cute, here is a picture of Peter with his new Peter-sized basketball

August 21, 2012

Today Mommy & Daddy took me to The Critter Barn's Family Round Up . . . there were animals, hay rides, a dunk tank, square dancing, banjos and even a really big chicken . . .here are a few of my highlights from the evening . . .

Mildred . . . I liked her, but she clearly needed a bath!
(Mommy excitement of the day . . . when we walked up to "Mildred" Peter loudly said "BAAAA"  I couldn't have been more proud and might have teared up a little bit!)

This is Jenny Lou (seriously, that is her name) . . . she lives in a house and goes for walks on a leash . . . I think I want a piggie just like her!

I told you Mildred was ok, but I really liked playing with the straw that was in her pen . . .

I LOVE to swing . . .
Folks, if this isn't true joy, I don't know what is!
