Woo Hoo . . . I have secured the remote control

Now, which one of these buttons do I push to watch basketball?

Oh, I just can't figure it out . . . I guess I'll just chew on it for a while

Oh no . . .

Peter has an affinity for anything electronically-inclined (as I would imagine most babies do).  He has perfected his weird form of crawling by following either my cell phone, the remote or the digital camera around the living room . . . he gets quite put out with me for moving it every time he gets close!

In other, unrelated news . . . Peter attends a Music Together class on Wednesday mornings.  He has fun and has been enjoying it more each week as he gets comfortable being around other kiddos . . . at one point in each class the teacher, Miss Michelle dumps a bin full of musical instruments in the middle of the room.  I have to pick out Peter's instrument as there are some older siblings in the room that would trample him.  Today I picked out a tambourine for him.  As he was about to grab it, a little girl walked up to us.  She looked at me, and then at the tambourine.  I reached for it . . . she reached for it . . .her gaze was impenetrable . . . I was a little scared . . . so, Dari got the tambourine . . . today was the day I was intimidated by an 18 month old . . . I guess I better grow a thicker skin!

When Peter was born at 30 weeks, we were scared and didn't know what to think . . . lucky for us there was a sweet little girl in the isolette next to him who had already done a month's worth of "time" in the NICU. We wish she could have baked a little longer, but we are so thankful to have met her and her mom & dad. Samantha was born at 26 weeks gestation . . . she had a rough road in the NICU, spending 90 days (compared to Peter's 52). Samantha and Peter were due to be born on the same weekend in July . . . they had other plans . . . or, maybe fate just intervened so these two could meet.  One year ago today, Jim & Sandy welcomed their little sweet pea into the world . . . Happy Birthday, Sami!
On Peter's discharge day (July 2011) . . . the nurses snuck us into Sami's nursery
October 2011 . . . a visit to the NICU aftercare clinic
 November 2012 . . . pizza for moms and dads . . . milk for us
December 2012 . . . we rolled on the floor . . . moms and dads looked silly playing Fruit Ninja
February 2012 . . . . one last visit before Peter moves to Grand Rapids (no worries . . . these two will still have playdates . . . even if there is more travel involved!)

READY TO SWIM!!!!!
Peter had his first swimming lesson today at the YMCA.  I wasn't able to take any pictures while there as I was in the water with him.  Brad stopped by to surprise us and Peter really lit up when he realized Daddy was there . . . quite frankly, he became a bit of a show off, splashing around and even kicking.  Hopefully we'll get some pictures in the next few weeks . . .

April 19, 2012

Peter only crawls when we aren't looking . . . otherwise he moves around like an inchworm . . .

Shoot!  I have been busted . . .

Must appear overly angry . . .

OK, I have spun around and am now casually reading a book about rainbows  . . . I wasn't crawling . . . look at the rainbow . . . isn't it beautiful (intense distraction techniques at play here)

Now I must sleep . . . my attempts at subterfuge are exhausting . . . and yes, this is how I sleep . . . and yes, I sleep with a small rabbit . . . his name is Travis . . . I love him and he is very masculine!

An Easter Picture I forgot to upload . . . two things I made (heehee)
Peter has decided to only grow hair on top of his head (and one little random fluffy patch on the back!)
I'm not so sure about your Dutch Omelet, Daddy . . . I think I might prefer a  German or Norwegian omelet . . . just sayin'

Happy Easter!

How Cute Am I?

Hmmm . . .what's in here?

This car is nice, but I feel like there may be something even more spectacular still in here . . .

I was right . . . a Baby Einstein book!  Thank goodness Mommy brought it to church with us this morning . . . it helped me maintain an appropriately quiet little boy!

Can't you see I am busy here?

Wheeeee . . .
I learned how to go down the slide by myself today!
Avocados, Grilled Cheese and Puffs . . . a delicious beginning to any meal . . .
And . . . a dilly bar with Daddy
An even more scrumptious ending to my meal
My first visit to Vips . . . . I like toast!

Swinging is exhilarating and terrifying all at the same time

I feel a little safer on Daddy's lap though

We crawled all the way through the tunnel and found Mommy on the other side
