Peter made his first visit to Jaenicke's root beer stand to surprise Grandpa for his birthday . . . He loved the root beer and coney dog and grandpa loved the surprise!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our sweet boy!  Peter got two birthday celebration this year . . . one with Uncle Kurt, Aunt Whitney, Mac, Bennett & Bisa on his actual birthday and one in Watseka during the Memorial Day weekend!  He had a great time at both parties and ate WAY too much sugar at both :)  Some of Peter's favorite gifts were a ukulele, an umbrella, an easel, a sesame street racetrack and glow in the dark planets . . . he is a very blessed little boy! 

Since I didn't update with his two year stats, here they are:  Peter is 35" tall and weighs just under 23 pounds . . . He continues to be our tall, skinny boy!  His favorite things to do are going to the park (especially one at a nearby church that has an ark and several slides), playing with his water table, reading (of course), painting, playing his "guitar" (which is actually a ukulele) and watching anything that has to do with Sesame Street.  He is doing extremely well with potty training.  In fact, he has  started wearing underwear instead of a diaper or pull-up.  Most days are not without an accident, but there's usually just one and that is more a result of not wanting to leave a fun activity until it is too late!  Peter is still talking up a storm and is now working on learning the lower case letters and spelling his name.  He really likes learning new songs and books.  In fact, he recorded a book for grandma for her birthday . . . he has quite an amazing memory!

Our last visit to the butterflies for this year . . . Aunt Whitney (or Kurwhitey as Peter calls her), Bennett & Bisa joined us for the fun . . . apparently Peter got a little tired while we were walking as he laid right down on the ground for a nap!  (he has done this before in the tropical gardens . . . they must soothe him!)

Just some pictures of the random stuff Peter loves!

 SWINGS!  Can't get enough of 'em!  He would swing for hours if that were an option . . . he has started to enjoy the slide, too, but the swings are definitely his first love!

 Mommy & Daddy's bed, Sesame Street, Grapes, Goldfish and movies . . . the perfect Sunday afternoon!

This is Peter's tent . . . does it look a little strange to you?  He likes to roll it around his room while inside . . . what a goofball . . . this morning he stopped at his book nook and read for a bit!
